The Challenge

Creating a world-class entertainment experience on a superyacht is no small feat. The harsh marine environment, limited installation space, and the necessity for seamless integration into the yacht’s elegant aesthetic all posed significant challenges. Superyacht AV’s CEO, Charles Bradley, was tasked with enhancing the audio experience aboard a luxury Sunseeker 116 yacht, requiring premium sound quality while ensuring that the technology remained discreet.

The Solution

Superyacht AV turned to 2B Heard, the UK’s exclusive distributor of K-array, to deliver an exceptional audio solution that met the unique demands of the marine environment. With Bradley’s expertise in high-end AV and 2B Heard’s deep product knowledge, the yacht was outfitted with K-array’s compact yet powerful speaker systems across multiple zones, including the master cabin, VIP suite, saloon, and helm.

Working closely with the owner and boatyard from the outset, the team designed custom enclosures to house the speakers, ensuring they remained hidden while delivering impeccable sound. The integration included marine-grade, IP64-rated speakers capable of withstanding exposure to salt water and humidity without compromising performance.

The yacht’s audio system now delivers crystal-clear, immersive sound across all entertainment zones, with precise room tuning to accommodate different media sources. The owner and the boatyard were impressed with the results, noting the system’s ability to provide high-fidelity sound without disrupting the yacht’s luxurious design.

Charles Bradley commented, “Everyone is super pleased. The boatyard people were blown away when they heard it while we were installing the system, and the owner is really happy with the result. We did separate room mapping for listening to music or watching TV, and assigned separate profiles to different inputs as movie sound tends to be too bass and sub-bass heavy. Whilst not spending so much time at sea, once the destination is reached the fun starts. They love it!”
